1. Agreement Overview
These Terms & Conditions govern all services provided by Strong Arm Movers (“we”, “our”, “us”) to the customer (“you”, “your”). By booking our services, you agree to be bound by this agreement.
We reserve the right to amend these terms with prior written notice.
2. Quotations & Pricing
- All quotes are valid for 7 days unless stated otherwise.
- Quotes are estimates based on information provided by you.
- Additional charges may apply if:
- Job details differ from initial booking
- Access conditions are difficult (stairs, distance, no parking)
- Delays occur outside our control
- Prices exclude insurance unless explicitly stated.
3. Insurance & Liability Cover
We provide:
- Public Liability Insurance (up to $10 million)
- Transit Insurance (limited coverage per truck load)
- Standard excess fees apply.
- Customers are strongly advised to arrange additional insurance for high-value goods.
- Extended coverage can be arranged at additional cost.
4. Services Not Included
Unless agreed in writing, we do NOT:
- Disconnect/reconnect appliances
- Assemble/disassemble complex items
- Move items from unsafe areas
- Handle specialised equipment requiring licensed professionals
5. Customer Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate job details
- Ensure clear access and parking
- Be present (or appoint someone) during the move
- Properly pack fragile or valuable items unless we are booked for packing
- Ensure items fit through doors, lifts, or staircases
- Empty and prepare appliances (fridge, washing machine, etc.)
Failure to meet these responsibilities may result in:
- Extra charges
- Delays
- Limited liability
6. Restricted & Prohibited Items
We will NOT transport:
- Hazardous or explosive materials
- Illegal goods
- Cash, jewellery, or high-value collectibles
- Perishable items
- Animals or plants
- Items requiring special permits
7. Booking, Cancellation & Rescheduling
- Cancellations 24+ hours before job: No charge
- Cancellations within 24 hours: Minimum 1-hour fee applies
- Deposits may be retained against cancellation fees
- Rescheduling must be requested in advance
8. Payment Terms
- Payment is due immediately upon completion
- Accepted methods: Cash, card (surcharge may apply), bank transfer
- We may require a deposit to secure your booking
9. Damage & Liability
We are liable only for damage caused by our negligence
Compensation may include:
- Repair
- Replacement
- Partial reimbursement
We are NOT liable for:
Poor packing done by customer
Pre-existing damage
Fragile items without proper protection
Minor scuffs or unavoidable marks during moving
As shown in the liability matrix on page 5, responsibility varies depending on who handled packing/loading
10. Property Damage
If we damage property due to negligence, we will repair the affected area only
We are not liable if:
You instruct us to proceed against advice
Damage results from restricted access
11. Delays
We are not responsible for delays caused by:
- Traffic
- Weather
- Previous jobs running late
- Events beyond our control
Arrival times are estimates only.
12. Exclusions of Liability
We are not liable for:
- Mechanical/electrical faults (unless caused by impact)
- Glass/marble damage without proper packing
- Flat-pack furniture (e.g. IKEA)
- Natural wear and tear
- Internal damage without external signs
13. Claims Process
- Visible damage must be reported before movers leave
- Hidden damage must be reported within 24 hours
Failure to report within time frame may void claims.
14. Right to Refuse or Stop Work
We may refuse or stop a job if:
- Safety risks are present
- Abusive behaviour occurs
- Incorrect booking details were provided
Full charges may still apply.
15. Storage & Unpaid Accounts
We may hold goods until full payment is received (lien rights)
- Unpaid invoices may result in:
- Storage charges
- Debt recovery action
- Sale of goods after notice period
16. Subcontracting
We may assign work to third-party contractors.
All terms still apply.
17. Use of Photos & Marketing
You agree that we may:
- Take photos/videos for marketing
- Use reviews or public posts
- Share content on social platforms
No compensation is payable for such use.
18. Staff Conduct Policy
We enforce a zero-tolerance policy for abuse.
If a job is stopped due to misconduct, full payment remains due.
19. Toll Charges
All tolls incurred during the move will be charged to the customer.
20. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and subject to its courts.
